Kathy Keeney is a registered nurse and entrepreneur who has taken her extensive medical knowledge and passion for the beauty industry and placed herself as one of the most sought after microblading artists in Columbus, Ohio. Get to know more about Kathy below!


Is there a special story behind your business?

“I always wanted to be a nurse injector, but I didn’t know how to become one. It isn’t an easy field to get into so I invested in my own training and instead of trying to convince someone else I was good enough I opened my own spa.”

How did you get into the business you are in?

“Learning Microblading opened the door for me into the beauty world. From there I took courses and trained with some of the industries leading aesthetic injectors.”

Advice for others new in your industry or starting their own business?

“Don’t wait for it to get easy before getting started.”

What is the last place you traveled and next on your list?

“We recently went to San Antonio for Spring Break. In a few weeks we are going to Charleston to celebrate my birthday.”

What is your favorite restaurant in Columbus and what do you order?

“Third & Hollywood – I love the rainbow trout dish.”

What is on your bucket list for this summer?

“I would love to take my daughter to the Wilds.”

What is your favorite festival/activity to do during the summer in Columbus?

“Picnic with the Partnership. Worthington closes off high street and lines tables down the middle. You can pack a picnic style dinner or order food from one of the local restaurants and eat dinner with 200 of your neighbors.”

What would you say is the perfect date night out in Columbus?

“Dinner then a concert.”

Who is one person you admire in your industry?

“I largely admire Sarah Hamilton. She owns 2 med spas in Washington and she is a fellow RN.”

What do you to to de-stress?

“A facial at Boss Gal :)”

What is the biggest lesson you have learned in your career?

“So many lessons. The biggest would be to learn to not take everything personally. Don’t dwell on things you can’t change and to focus on solutions.”

What is the most rewarding moment in your career?

“Winning top workplace from Columbus CEO magazine.”

What is your favorite way Columbus has changed in the past 5 years?

“All the new restaurants!”

If you weren’t in your current field of work, what would you be doing?

“Probably working in real estate. I love working with people networking.”
